Review: Capital Scandal

Release Date: June 6, 2007
Genre: Romance, Comedy, Period, Political
Characters:

Synopsis:

It is a story about the 1900s revolution of Korean activists to the Japanese Emperor who runs their government. Based on the history told in the drama, the characters were fighting for independence from the Japanese colonization that hinders their people to experience leadership and freedom. From this overview, it requires the characters to be courageous, nationalistic and passionate in forming a rebel group against their oppressors.

Characters:

The drama starred two of my favorite actors in the Korean industry, Kang Ji Hwan and Han Ji Min.

Kang Ji Hwan took the role of the playful leading man, Hwan who is fantastic in delivering jokes and making the mood lighter in the drama. In his counterpart, Jo Ma Ja or Na Eun Kyung is a serious  conservative librarian who is very traditional and decisive with her actions. Because of their conflicting character, it's interesting to look forward to these two opposite individuals meeting halfway for their goals which is almost impossible to achieve but not quite.

Comments:

I just recently finished this drama however it is quite considered classic because it was aired back in 2007 consisting of 16 episodes. Nonetheless, it doesn't miss the elements of an  up-to-date drama to catch your attention as a viewer, in comparison with the more recently produced dramas. They specially made a studio for their setting and I thought that they did a great job at making it look like a real village in Korea in the 1900s. Because of the good balance of light and heavy drama, I can't find flaws from the drama. However, I don't find anything so special about it either. Even so, it's definitely your above average K-drama so I'm giving that rating as my final verdict.
