First Impression: Descendants of the Sun

Plot: A love story between troop officer Yoo Shi Jin who leads peacekeeping troops in war and Doctor Kang Mo Yeon who dedicates her life to her career.

First Impression:

I didn’t know that this was a rom-com series because there are definitely more than just the snippets I’ve seen. I didn’t expect a lot since I’m in a K-drama slump last year and this year but surprisingly, Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Gyo were boosting with chemistry onscreen. This drama is one of those that you fall in love with at first episode. They also have that slow-motion effect which happens when you have crush on someone and had me grinning so hard.

PROJECT GIVEAWAY / EXCHANGE GIFT: TO FILIPINO/SEA CASSIES

DEADLINE: MARCH 4, 2016

Probably, many of you will ask why I am giving away the stuff that I purchased after TVXQ split. Here are the reasons why and I would be honest. First, for the longest time I’ve been thinking of selling them. However, I decided that there is no price tag to these items because I bought them out of love. I still do, but I feel the need to let them go. For the past months (or years), I’ve been debating with myself whether to sell them or not. I realized that I need to pause and think through the idea. Then I have come to realize that if I know that it will make me a better person which everyone does when they go through something, why not give it a try. Don’t misunderstand me that I am losing faith. I only need to do this to renew myself and by doing so, I’ll able to share a portion of my being to fellow Cassies as well. Number 2, I will still continue to be their fan and this is my way to actually give myself a breather and at the same time, to communicate with you guys. I actually have so many thoughts in my mind that I needed to forgo and just do this. So here I am, offering some of my pre-loved fangirl stuff to you. Number 3, I am planning to buy Yoochun and Jaejoong’s album but I can’t do it if I wouldn’t let go some of the CDs that I bought when they were beginning as JYJ. Same thing applies to TVXQ as a duo because I plan to buy their Rise as God CD. Don’t get me wrong if I feel that they were lacking in sentimental value but I feel that somehow I’ve grown as much as their more recent albums have. Please help me do this.

Now I want to know how far this soul searching will go. I hope you’ll make an entry to this giveaway. I’ll give freebies as well.

Mechanics: 1. Answer the questions below using your google account or whatever account you have that is available from the options; 2. Spread the word to your fellow Cassies by sharing on Facebook, Twitter or other social media accounts; and lastly, 3. Screen capture your shared post and post it in the comment section of the “We will wait for TVXQ” FB page. If you don’t know how to screen capture, you may picture your screen. The more that you will share, the higher chances of winning.

I don’t know how many Cassies will win, if I feel the sincerity to your answers, everyone might just be a winner. So please, take this on a personal level. Goodluck!

Documentary Review: Twinsters (2015)

Millennials may be skeptical on the genuineness of what social media can offer (me included), so I started blogging where I feel more at ease in expressing myself. But in this film, there is a vindication to these widely popular social media services such as Facebook and Youtube. I believe that it has brought out one of the very essences of technology which is to bring people closer together, regardless of where you are at the moment.

The documentary follows the journey of Samantha Futerman and Anais Bordier in their search for biological roots in Busan, South Korea. It has begun when Anais contacted Samantha thru Facebook on February, 2013 to give her a tap on their resemblance and their undeniable similarities such as their birth date and the place where they were born. From here, they started communicating via skype and recording every detail that has covered their plight. Though miles apart from each other, Samantha who was adopted by American couple and was based in LA while Anais who was adapted by French couple and was based in London to study; they managed to have their first trip to South Korea together and met people who may be the key to unveiling to what has went through.

Review: In Time With You (2011)

Introduction:

On her 30th birthday, Chen You Qing received a video greeting from Li Da Ren, a good friend who managed to stick with her through the years. The message depicted "the symptoms of premature aging" to which You Ching considered as a bitter reality to her womanhood - a single, career driven independent woman but at the same time, longing for a man's love. Little to her imagination, Li Da Ren is sneaky in showing his true feelings for her that developed ever since they were high school students. But how was he able to hide his 14 years of affection towards You Qing? It was that one moment wherein You Qing asked if he likes her and to his defense, he blurted a mistake that is "I will not fall in love with you" in which convinced You Qing to believe that there is no hidden meaning to their companionship.

It is a story of love, friendship and finding yourself in between the roles that you serve in the life of one another. Both are hopeful to preserve the memories they spent together as good friends. Will they able to look for the person to spend the rest of their life with before they grasp their essence to each other's life?

Happy 28th Birthday Changmin!

I can’t believe that this day has come sooner than life has let me meet him. Changmin is now 28 and I am 25 and we’re supposed to be legally settled with our own lives together with our families, which is a scenario for the future but not anytime soon cause I’m here, still trying to figure out life and he’s at the the military serving his country. But who knows? Fate might just be playing a trick and as I publish my feelings towards his birthday, we might be reconciled with the past, the young and immature love yet so intense. I’m not saying that we had a relationship but if we go back in time, I fangirled him so hard which is considered as an idol-fangirl relationship. Changmin is my ultimate bias in TVXQ and even among kpop idols even though I really only liked TVXQ in kpop. Well what do I like about him? Our personalities matched and I understand him, when he’s making a joke or when he’s keeping quiet and even when he’s hurting. I feel like there is this connection that binds us together no matter where life may take us, even though it’s a one sided bond that is attached to him. Someday, I really wish to meet him because I have so many things to say and ask about Junsu and I want to experience how it feels like to encounter him in person and not just laugh with him in front of the computer screen. Maybe I’ll get intimidated by his handsome looks, but I also think that I could handle it well because like I said, I know what goes through his mind. He’s shy, soft spoken, respectful, straight forward, not clingy, sensitive, caring and sarcastic. I think I just described myself.
