It's an extraordinary New Year for everyone who celebrated it through the special camp out organized by the Treasure Hunt Club members, kicking off 1997 by sleeping all together under the night sky. Though they put up a tent earlier which eventually was wrecked after too much excitement from the card game; this highlighted the day that just started. But before completely moving forward, let us go back to 1996 where 3631 and sky's friendship was virtually formed.
Another great year has passed by for Jia En, which has brought delightful events in her life, even exceeding the awesomeness of 1995. Well, it's better to carry that kind of attitude on to the next year - which probably is the right attitude to a better year ahead. Hence, I am impressed once again in this show, as it managed to strengthen the foundation to Jia En's growth as an individual which I consider as a charming young woman and deserving of Liu Chuan's attention.
So we were all intrigued at how Liu Chuan would reveal his identity to sky (Jia En), a persistent online friend looking forward to meeting him. Though it was divulged to sky through the past entries of 3631 that he is from a family that has a legislator member, which could be a probable reason to his reluctance to come out, and all that complicated things going on through his mind; but I think that Liu Chuan is mostly concerned with Jia En's reaction because he supposed, she'd get sad for a long time. This guy however, dies inside whenever 3631 is brought up where he goes notably strange and bothered by something and catching Jia En's concern.
Luckily, Liu Chuan got Ri Qi. The guy was on the rescue to Liu Chuan's trouble with 3631, while A Qing is simply keeping it cool, not giving a hint that he's had an idea of what is going on with Liu Chuan in front of Jia En. This shows how much their friendship is treasured and valued through understanding but at the same time, making a fool out of Liu Chuan's problems. Perhaps, laughing it off in front of him which they did, mocking him to self embarrassment. However, I commend Liu Chuan for showing his trust to his guy friends. "Finally, you're talking to me now," said A Qing while Ri Qi's lines were "You should take a course on relationships". I find that endearing among the guy's relationship. It feels so great to analyze their friendship and the course of Liu Chuan's growth.
On the other hand, Jia En continued to grow in her own comfortable pace which is never going backward. It isn't surprising though for we have seen her transformed into a beautiful woman in episode 6. I just thought it was smart of her to put the pieces all together by using her senses to get there in the extent of 3631- bravo girl! But now the tension is with how she would handle it on the next episode.
Spoiler: I just wanna jump up and down and tease Liu Chuan - boy out are found out and it will be awkward. You alone, is a screen of excitement with your jealousy with Ri Qi. Haha. Grin.
Next up is Ren Wei - his growth from an annoying stalker and admirer of Bai Xue to still a stupid young man for love but altered into an amusing yet in a dedicated way full of sincerity, moved me. He helped Bai Xue from the awkwardness of revealing who his crush is, during the camp out of the treasure hunt club. Truly, you can't hate this guy because he faced the situation for Bai Xue, forgetting his own feelings for her knowing that he's not her type. Then profoundly accepting that it doesn't matter because what really counts is his pursuit to make her happy. I was just, moved because it was so sweet of him and I saw the sincerity in his eyes.
Xiao Wei has grown attached to Ri Qi and it was noticeable in her actions, offering her food to him and also, being affected by 3631's coming out which can be read all over her face. Additionally, she excused herself to go with Ri Qi and Jia En for a breakfast. I feel sorry for her, and I wish Ri Qi would clear it all up soon. Because boy, you, another piece of dense human being, even gave her a pillow the night after you agreed to be 3631 in place of Liu Chuan. That is somewhat confusing the girl's mind in a way.
I also like the little details of the supporting casts: A Qing asking Jia En to invite Tracy for the camping while Jia En tagging along Xiao Wei in their conversation asking "why only Tracy and not Xiao Wei?". Of course, we can't miss out the crack that is Jacky and Ah Di during the truth or dare game in the New Year's evening that showed their overflowing energy.
What do we expect from In A Good Way but a promising episode for everyone, hence you would expect great things in watching. It was a satisfying week long craving for this episode to happen.
