"In A Good Way" Episode 10

This episode is loaded with so much subtleness in Liu Chuan's deliberate wooing over Jia En which I thought is adorable and cute but on the other hand, Jia En is too dense to have a clue on what is going on. Perhaps she also has gotten the hints from his actions which can also be considered as a gesture of a gentleman but she still remains composed. It's quite obvious now that Liu Chuan is directly crushing on Jia En but it isn't obvious enough to Jia En's consciousness and level of maturity. Maybe Jia En has other priorities in life which to me isn’t clear without Liu Chuan’s involvement in her life. She doesn't know things like romantic relationship with anyone just like Ren Wei has realized. That being said, Ren Wei who is still nursing heartbreak from Bai Xue confided on Jia En. As a friend, she advised Ren Wei a realistic and friendly one, saying that he’s always been after perfect girls and so far, he hasn’t been successful. Hence, he needs to change his ideal type and go for someone whom he can be comfortable with. Girl went on talking and describing someone who is so much like herself and that Ren Wei has gotten the idea and flashed the look to Jia En. Unaware of what she did, Jia En was flustered with blankness. However, these two friends adapted the famous Chinese saying: “Life is priceless. Love is even more priceless. For the sake of freedom, they can be sacrificed.” 

I enjoyed this episode so much because we have seen the clingy side of Liu Chuan to Jia En. Like for instance, when he can't study alone anymore in the room together with Momo because he's preoccupied with thoughts about Jia En so he decided to join her in the library instead. That scene was where Jia En is particularly pretty despite of the casual sweatshirt and pants she's sporting. Also, she has the natural beauty and a long silky black hair to complete her visuals. Though we all know she looks pretty in the electrifying eyes of Liu Chuan inside and out. The gazes he's made to her could kill, only if she's aware. They went for a dinner afterwards and they ate burger and fries, the American style. Of course the scene wouldn't be complete without some skin ship - Liu Chuan wiping off Jia En's lips smudged with sauce. Aww, Jia En herself was surprised but hasn't shown any flailing after, except for the usual awkward silence and Liu Chuan's beaming smile in sight of her child-like self.

Moving on from the OTP, this show is excellent in the department of script writing. I mean, they are already amazing in terms of cinematography and character development but the script is on another level of awesomeness. Like for example, the midterm exam that the professor gave to Jia En and Bai Xue which they needed time to ponder into. Suppose that it's you're last day on earth, what would you do? Act it out then make a reflection as your answer. As obedient as she is, Jia En started to think of what she's going to do and she kept on sighing. Her dad noticed her constant deep sigh so he asked her what's going on. She explained the scenario to him thus her dad initiated for them to role play. The role play led to tearful and sentimental last words to each other through their conversation. Though the dad did not let go of his hilarious side because the things he said are just the basic things and reminders to her daughter, the sincerity is heartfelt. Jia En immediate dismissed the thought and said they are just acting out.

As a fulfillment to the exam, she finally has thought of something to do. That is to give thanks to the people special to her by making bento for them. Surprisingly, she even made bento for Momo (Liu Chuan's dog). While making them, dad passed by and marveled at the sight of bento so without a thought, he ate Bai Xue's egg and also took a bite of Momo's. Later on, because he wasn’t satisfied of what he tasted, he asked where Liu Chuan's bento is to which Jia En pointed. He then ended up snatching Liu Chuan’s bento to eat ignoring his own at the thought LC’s being the best in terms of taste and preparation out of all. Even daddy knows and he even approves, Jia En. How about you? Afterwards, Jia En delivered the bento to Tracy and Xiao Wei. Tracy was delighted at the sight of it and it made me crave for something to eat. Then next, she went to Liu Chuan and Momo where they even had a moment and a little sadness was apparent to Liu Chuan’s eyes for being serious about it. This guy is seriously the best, and for actually saying what he would feel if it’s the last chance of him to see Jia En. Then the happy guys went crazy over the bento, Jacky and Ah Di. I feel that after the ball, these two has acquired a crush on Jia En. Anyway, they are nothing but hilarious. At the Treasure Hunt Club office, Jia En gave the bento for Ren Wei, A Qing and Ri Qi and they fought for the egg. I thought that in just a simple act of kindness, Jia En made everyone happy except for Liu Chuan. Then we only have the last person to get hers, Bai Xue.

Bai Xue in fulfillment of her task, she went overcome her fear of heights or acrophobia. The two girls had a talk and both agreed that they are special to each other, and Bai Xue is greatful enough to have a friend beside her in her last day (as suppose they are acting out). This is a beautiful story of friendship I am talking about, not to mention the values engraved in both of these amazing girls.

Overall, this episode is very commendable, educational and touching. In A Good Way has done it again. This Friday, I look forward to seeing Jia En and Xiao Wei strengthen their friendship because I miss Xiao Wei. Paging Ri Qi to help her out. I need to see them together but at the same time, I'm happy that IAGW has not let go off of Xiao Wei's story.
