Variety Recommendation: Running Man Episode 181 “Romeo and Juliet”featuring Lee Jong Suk, Park Bo Young, Lee Se Young

You can search up on google for this episode of Running Man which I decided to watch yesterday out of good mood. So, instead of catching up with dramas that I am currently watching, I chose to watch this one for reasons which couldn’t be any random. First is of course, Lee Jong Suk’s name is an instant magnet for me to click on the link. Second, the title caught my attention, “Romeo and Juliet” and I was curious as well; and third, Park Bo Young is also there who has left a good impression on me in “A Werewolf Boy”! And I knew that these two teamed up for a movie called “Hot Young Bloods” which is about rivalries, friendships and secret crushes held by students at a high school in Heongseong, South Korea set in the early 1980s. This movie was already released in Korea so I thought; it was for a promotion that’s why they were both invited on the show. However I was surprised there was no mention of the movie. Anyway, I believe I heard of them guesting but I didn’t really pay attention until yesterday.

Glad I made the right decision to watch. Maybe because I’m biased with Jong Suk but aside from that, unlike any other episode of Running Man, this one is one of their few bests. Well, I still could count the times I watched this show because of their guests and these are when TVXQ, Lee Seung Gi (120, 121, 174), Lee Jong Suk (138, 181) and Kim Woo Bin (138, 166), Moon Geun Young was part of them. Oh, John Park and Kim Soo Hyun’s (102, 147) as well. So there goes my biased opinion again, but at least it was worth of my time watching these people as guests.

Moving on to this episode, I think that the concept was great – A secret lover emerged among the cast members. Here, the couple was comprised of Jong Suk and Ace Ji Hyo. Throughout the episode, they are supposed to do the mission for them to succeed. To be successful means they shouldn’t be revealed by the remaining members and for each step or level, two teams are given the right and the false hint of who the true couple is if Ji Hyo and Jong Suk, our couple is able to do their mission. This is where we insert fangirl squeal for both Jong Suk and Ji Hyo’s team up that sparked chemistry. I couldn’t believe they look so good together even when it was only for a mission. I must say that Ji Hyo looks good with everyone she’s worked with, I am so jealous of that but in a pleasant way. This actress doesn’t age as she grows; she looks super radiant, pretty and is even close to Jong Suk’s ideal woman – someone who is older and more mature than him. In this episode I saw how Jong Suk become uneasy for the mission tasked of them. I could only laugh at his problematic side during this episode. He could only think of that, and hiding it with his smiles. He could have acted better but no, he was tensed. LOL. That kind of personality to me is charming and I could only sigh, he’s close to perfection whenever he smiles. So this probably went on to fangirling him more than the overall essence of this episode. Haha.

Also, I had a few good laughs at the persistence of HAHA that Yoo Jae Suk is the culprit and it escalated when he’s remained suspicious till the end. Everyone was hilarious I must say but the main attraction to me was of course Lee Jong Suk and Ji Hyo's loveteam.

Must-watch! Whether you’re a fan of Lee Jong Suk or not. I wouldn’t leave without talking about Park Bo Young in this episode. She's had a commanding presence as well and is very bubbly too! It wouldn’t matter if she was the one paired with Jong Suk because I like her that much as well. On the other hand, this is my first experience with Park Se Young so I couldn’t really focus on her because I have yet to have an idea what to expect. But yeah, she’s pretty and she seems like a nice person even though she lacked a bit in exerting herself in this episode.

As a conclusion, you can check this episode out if you are looking for a crack variety show -- Kwangsoo is as always easy to pick on while Kim Jong Kook is as strong as he ever was. You could also sense a bit of tinsy bitsy jealousy of Gary with the inevitable closeness of Ji Hyo to Jong Suk which made everything sweet and exciting for a love triangle. I am not a fan of Running Man in general but since and if you're a fan of Jong Suk, this would be extra special for you.
