Halftime Review: Road No. 1

WATCH ONLINE!

This drama is seriously one of the best K-dramas I've watched technically speaking. When I say that, my criteria in using my judgment would include execution of the scenes, editing, casting, cinematography, script and a heartfelt story about war, romance, and brotherhood. I can also say that perhaps, I've never heard of this Kdrama before until one night, I came across a video and started watching it; hence it was a total surprise to me having without any expectation. The first episode really got me hooked into watching as I could sense the quality it has comparing to other Kdramas I've seen. So I did some research also, went to google because I wanted to read few reviews about it but I didn't find any from drama bloggers. I can't imagine how an excellent Kdrama like this could be missed out in the midst of Kdrama wave going on. It really talks about how much popularity gets the credit for everyone to watch a Korean drama. I was sad learning about it.

Review: Psychic

In a Nutshell: A science fiction drama about two extraordinary individuals. One  is characterized by the power to manipulate others through his monster-like eyeballs while the other has the ability to counteract such beguiling power through his mind.

Commentaries:

I watched this movie starring Go Soo and Kang Dong Won to familiar myself more on their works. Both are promising and established actors in Korea that makes this movie deserving to be watched by everyone most especially to someone like myself who's into kdramas. I thought that the genre was interesting as well to be seen so when I came across the opportunity of watching it, I grabbed it with full of anticipation.

The movie caught my attention at this line: "It's not my fault to be born like this. The fact that I'm different from others, you people will never understand. I, too, do not wish to mingle amongst you" which defined Kang Dong Won's character in the film. Aside from that, the mystery surrounding his birth really was the topic I was looking forward to be answered.

Character Introduction: Stars Falling from the Sky

Synopsis: Jin Pal Gang is the eldest child among the other adopted children in the family. Unfortunately, their parents met a car accident that led to the family's loss. Because of that, she was left with the responsibility to take care of her siblings. Part of that responsibility is forgetting her identity as a woman to become a mother for her children.

Before everything had happened, she was smitten with a co-worker in the company, Atty. Won Kang Ha. However, for the past five years that she has looked at him, he never looked back at her in return. Until one day, the siblings had nowhere to go because their house was demolished and they were only left with nothing but debts. Because of this, Pal Gang pleaded to Won Kang Ha’s brother, Won Joon Ha to hire her as their in-house maid. Even though she first volunteered as their keeper with an intention to serve the Attorney whom she loved, she let go of that thought in order to support her siblings and to find shelter for her family. Eventually, she was employed through Joon Ha’s help but without the knowledge of her bringing her siblings with her. This started the sitcom like hide and seek course of the kids so that they wouldn’t be found out to be at the turf of the Won family.

Review: My Girlfriend is a Gumiho

Genre: Comedy, Fantasy, Romance
Release Date: August 11, 2010

Casts:

Lee Seung Gi - Cha Dong Woong
Shin Min Ah - Gumiho / Gil Dal

Review:

I watched this drama out of love for Lee Seung Gi but honestly speaking, at first I wasn't expecting anything great because I'm not the biggest fan of rom-com dramas and aside from that, I thought Shin Min Ah was not the perfect match for him as far as onscreen chemistry is concerned. Basing from the trailers that I saw, I was a bit hesitant about their team up. Anyway, I did watch it and contrary to my beliefs, I enjoyed it. The fact that it wasn't boring was not only because it's comedy but also they added a fantasy factor on it which is new to me I guess but then again, there are still pitfalls overall because this is a fantasy series.

Review: Cinderella's Sister

We're used to seeing Cinderella as the main character in the old Disney classics which has became the norm to every story. However, this time around, the story was rewritten to revolve around the life of her step-sister, Eun Jo. Because of Cinderella's anticipation of developing a close relationship to the new additions to their family, with her usual clingy self, to her attempt scared step-sister away. She has pushed the button to Eun Jo's resistance towards her; moreover, doubting her sincerity to communicate. As step mom is now focused in pleasing Cinderella, Eun Jo has thrown bricks of jealousy but more of disgust in awareness that mother is just faking it. Due to conflicting attitude and character between the step-sisters; added with guilt towards the unreciprocated overwhelming act of kindness which suffocates Eun Jo, exhausted Cinderella's effort as well to some point; nonetheless, she was persistent of wooing Eun Jo with every ounce of strength she has. While on the process of making things work, the chances of a good sibling relationship has slimmed by the man that stands in between them. The prince charming, who is contrary to the tales, has treated Cinderella like  his sister and nothing more but has also shown great interest and care to Eun Jo - who was eventually touched by such gentlemanly gestures. As Cinderella can't win step sister's approval, she tried to win over Prince Charming but to her poor judgment, it happened to cause misunderstandings, enough to break relationships. Bearing the guilt from the past, Cinderella will face the consequence of her mistake. From here, the story really gets interesting after years have passed.
