Fated to Love You First Impression (Episode 1-6)

In a nutshell: This is a Korean remake of the Taiwanese drama called Fated to Love You starring Ethan Ruan and Qiao En which was aired back in 2006. For the Korean counterpart, it led Jang Hyuk as Geon and Jang Nara as Kim Mi Young.

The story is about the entanglement of life between two individuals who met by chance in Macau after much confusion with the room number of the hotel where they both were checked in, but with different partners who eventually dumped them both. After spending a night together, this is where it all started.

Comments:

I haven’t watched the Taiwanese drama online but I remember catching up few episodes at the local channel where it was aired back in day (that sounds really old and odd to me speaking of which). So, I think that it’s a good thing because I will be able to predict less of the story and feel surprised with the events that could happen next. However, since I decided to watch this one and to be honest, curiosity is a normal phenomenon to happen since I’m fidgety at wanting to know what could happen afterwards though it might spoil me, I checked some clips on youtube. But of course I won’t spoil it here myself. And now I start to imagine my thoughts which I can’t divulge, “Ohhhh…” Anyways, I’m sure that if you can relate to it and you feel that you have the telekinetic power to reveal what it is, comment below. But that’s not the point I’m talking, because I’m excited to go all out and discuss it with you but I’m just weird like this that I can’t seem to know how and where to begin. I will just leave it to the fate, in the hands of the scriptwriter whatever that shall be revised and decided to be pursued from the original story.

Of course my impression is really important because there are plenty of dramas out there waiting to be seen and it is really hard to choose the few ones that would suit me. Maybe I’m that kdrama viewer who doesn’t rely on what is currently most talked of but with exemptions of course. I’m the type who has the confidence to choose for myself because even though I blog and do all these things, I don’t want to watch for the sake of having something to update, and I am not bragging about that. But read carefully of what I will be talking about in my impression because I tell you that this is a well-made remake. I didn’t watch it for the reason that the TW one was popular or the actors are familiar names but because this is a kdrama that has a heart despite of the shallowness in the outward appearance of the actors and also, it is so much fun that it flies whenever I watch it. So if you were to ask me how I would rate it, I would mostly base on the entertainment factor of it because it was JJANG (best)! I can say that without much analyzing and being perfectionist, this drama is up there on my list of feel good and gifted with decency.

Is it the best kdrama that is currently being aired?
I wouldn’t say that this is the best but it has its own flavor to offer. I really hope that they would keep me interested like what Witch’s Romance did from start to end because this is the replacement of that cute and sweet drama to me. Bleep the similarity that both were from Taiwan first and that were Ethan Ruan dramas (I’m not even his fan) but I think that the way they have re-invented the show through other factors like the actors, the music, setting, I just feel that the production team is doing their assignment in making it interesting as possible so I appreciate their effort in putting up the show.

Is it my favorite?
I wouldn’t say that this is my favorite and besides it’s TOO early to tell but I would claim that this drama has beauty. I don’t know how to explain it well but I think I really like the actors – Jang Hyuk and Jang Nara for their roles and their portrayal. They have the experience and chemistry to begin with and I think that other than their talent, it is a given charm to their team to be able to feel more realistic with their characters.

So far so good, I feel the excitement and anticipation for the upcoming episodes. I’ve had butterflies in my stomach and I laugh at the crazy and little weird habits by Geon. So, if you are watching this, feel free to spazz with me. Enjoy!
