Fated to Love You First Impression (Episode 1-6)

In a nutshell: This is a Korean remake of the Taiwanese drama called Fated to Love You starring Ethan Ruan and Qiao En which was aired back in 2006. For the Korean counterpart, it led Jang Hyuk as Geon and Jang Nara as Kim Mi Young.

The story is about the entanglement of life between two individuals who met by chance in Macau after much confusion with the room number of the hotel where they both were checked in, but with different partners who eventually dumped them both. After spending a night together, this is where it all started.

Comments:

I haven’t watched the Taiwanese drama online but I remember catching up few episodes at the local channel where it was aired back in day (that sounds really old and odd to me speaking of which). So, I think that it’s a good thing because I will be able to predict less of the story and feel surprised with the events that could happen next. However, since I decided to watch this one and to be honest, curiosity is a normal phenomenon to happen since I’m fidgety at wanting to know what could happen afterwards though it might spoil me, I checked some clips on youtube. But of course I won’t spoil it here myself. And now I start to imagine my thoughts which I can’t divulge, “Ohhhh…” Anyways, I’m sure that if you can relate to it and you feel that you have the telekinetic power to reveal what it is, comment below. But that’s not the point I’m talking, because I’m excited to go all out and discuss it with you but I’m just weird like this that I can’t seem to know how and where to begin. I will just leave it to the fate, in the hands of the scriptwriter whatever that shall be revised and decided to be pursued from the original story.

SBS Variety Show: Roommate

                           

I didn't expect my viewing habit to be loaded with plenty of currently airing shows from Korea and I feel a bit absorbed in watching them. So I came across this variety show since a lot of mentions about it has been made in my timeline. First, the familiar names Lee Dong Wook, Park Bom, Chan Yeol were tagged together and to me these are the few ones I could recognize so I was curious what must have this show has to offer for putting all these people together? Basically, the concept of it is to create a home for celebrities where they would go back to after a busy long day. So we have the rock music icon in the 90s, Shin Sung Woo who's taking part as Chan Yeol of EXO's roommate, supermodel & fashion enthusiast Lee So Ra who's roommate is the 4D or 4 dimensional personality Park Bom from 2ne1 and Song Ga Yeon, a sports driven 19 year old who has a very pretty face but with a  tough personality because of being a Road FC Fighter. Other roommates are actors & flower boys Park Min Woo & Seo Kang Joon. The pairing of Orange Caramel's Nana and actress Hong Soo Hyun is another matched upbeat & straightforward personalities. The unexpected and the probably the most opposite looking partners are the handsome actor Lee Dong Wook and comedienne Jo Se Ho yet they clicked so well in terms of humor and energy.

This drama first caught me at Kim Jaejoong and Lee Bum Soo working together again even though I haven't seen their first project together which is Dr. Jin. Im Si Wan's casting probably became one of my reasons too to keep an eye on the showing date and such. This drama has only become a candidate out of so many interesting dramas I've had in my mind, but I really wasn't so sure whether I'm really gonna make time for it or not. Nonetheless, I've had my first impression with the trailer and that's when I decided give it a try.

What was about the trailer? Even though it was only a clip and there was just a few seconds shown, I've seen a matured Jaejoong (Heo Yeong Dal) as an actor in a role of a gangster and I had the gut feel this is going to be different from the past projects he's done. So please don't disappoint me.

Review: Can We Get Married?

In a Nutshell: It's about a couple (Hae Yeon and Jong Hun) which life is about to change due to impending marriage. However, the involvement of their family most especially their mothers who are major influences in their lives has affected the process of their engagement contributing to the problems between the two. Would they be able to get through this test or not?

Commentaries:

I liked this drama lot from the beginning because I thought that the spontaneous script and the reality it brings to all couples were illustrated through the atmosphere and the environment. Well, I still actually liked the whole concept of in-laws and the inclusive element of the love stories as well as marriage problems brought about by some circumstances. However, there are instances wherein I've felt kind of irritated to the excessive complaints and/or demands of these two mothers involved whose role are major to their children. Nonetheless, I still appreciate their concern and somewhere along the way, I had a gist of where they are coming from and despite of it happening in the war zone, it shouldn't affect much of the relationship between Hae Yeon and Jong Hun. The problem should still be dealt with by the couple themselves proving on how much they want to be together.

Review: Psychic

In a Nutshell: A science fiction drama about two extraordinary individuals. One  is characterized by the power to manipulate others through his monster-like eyeballs while the other has the ability to counteract such beguiling power through his mind.

Commentaries:

I watched this movie starring Go Soo and Kang Dong Won to familiar myself more on their works. Both are promising and established actors in Korea that makes this movie deserving to be watched by everyone most especially to someone like myself who's into kdramas. I thought that the genre was interesting as well to be seen so when I came across the opportunity of watching it, I grabbed it with full of anticipation.

The movie caught my attention at this line: "It's not my fault to be born like this. The fact that I'm different from others, you people will never understand. I, too, do not wish to mingle amongst you" which defined Kang Dong Won's character in the film. Aside from that, the mystery surrounding his birth really was the topic I was looking forward to be answered.

Review: Rich Man, Poor Woman

In a Nutshell:

A rom-com series that is poised to tackle the more important issues in the story such as the friendship between two individuals who are both inclined of the same interest in the business world. This humanistic drama will take us a ride of emotion through the good memories and bad times.

Commentaries:

The story was a pleasant surprise. It's because the title is deceiving me of what I should expect from it though it was expected from j-doramas already that they would never fail to exceed assumptions. I finished the series proudly for 3 days while I'm busy. It's a big thing for me since I've always felt productive after finishing a drama that I was curious about but never really got me interested until 3 days ago.

This drama is a heartfelt story of friendship. But if you are looking forward to the romantic side of the story, then you will not be deprived of it either. As for me, I was satisfied in both aspects.

KPOP: Illusion by ZE:A

This is pretty random post though I love being random, I don't even know where to start because no one totally knew the background of this event other than myself. So, I'm a newly converted fan of ZE:A. It's safe to say that I've been catching up on them for the last three weeks that I have fangirl-ed. It has a long history for me to explain but it all started with Hyung Shik first. Remember that drama, Nine Times Time Travel that I've been obsessing with, he was the younger self of Lee Jin Wook's (Park Sun Woo) character. I was thinking that maybe I should make a feature about them beforehand as an introduction but I guess my schedule has been very busy with real life so I was very afraid to start because I might not give justice to my feels towards them. Anyway, yes I bought their latest album. I can't believe it, I bought a kpop album from an idol group other than tvxq/jyj.

To be honest, at first I really wasn't sure myself if I really like to buy this album but in the end, I gave in  to the temptation because of all the 'feels' they've given me for the month of August. I guess that I found it as a really genuine piece of emotion and I was moved by that, forcing myself to loosen up my wallet. It's a mini album, I was thinking it could have been better if it was a full length album because I really liked the songs. They got the momentum for this recent one, and as I was comparing this to their previous releases, this is their best yet so far as a whole. I love the previous releases though such as: Watch Out, Here I Am, Spectacular, Special Day and Heart For 2. By the way, I liked the songs released by their sub unit ZE:A Five too. Hope you'll check them out. To sum it all up, currently they one of the things that I consider as my sources of happiness.

The album came together with an 80 page photo booklet.

Synopsis: 

It's a fun love story revolving around a movie superstar and an ex-member of a then girl-group called The National Treasure Girls which popularity has disappeared overtime. It all started when Dok Ko Jin who has heart problem that led him to undergo operation in the past suddenly experienced his heart beating faster upon hearing an old song, which happens to be a hit track by the girl group where Ae Jung was part of. Meanwhile, in the memory of the past, Ae Jung still uses the song as her ringtone even after 10 years to which Dok Ko Jin recognized. Strangely, being around her makes Dok Ko Jin at ease and he feels healthier that ever, using her as power booster when he feels weak. Due to this, he became clingy to his assumption that the song has healing powers over him and as a result, he developed feelings of attachment and love to her.

Synopsis:

Review: Wolf Children Ame and Yuki

It is an animated film with a box office hit success in Japan on 2012. It received numerous recognition from the different award winning bodies and positive reviews from critics. The movie was highly recommended by JYJ's Yoochun which he mentioned in one of his interviews  and that's how it caught my attention.
