Shitsuren Chocolatier First Impression: Episode 1 & 2

Okay so I have been looking for a j-dorama to watch after finishing Gokusen. Little did I know, I would find myself watching another MatsuJun drama which is currently airing in Japan. Though I had a second thought at first because I might feel deprived while waiting every week to come since this drama is not yet finished. However, I started it and was drawn at the sight of chocolate so I didn't hesitate to go all the way.

Character Description:

Matsumoto Jun as Koyurugi Sota

- he is the main character of the drama, who is inspired by heartbreak to be a Chocolatier. He may allow himself to be defeated in love but not in the matters of chocolate because he considers himself competitive.

- I think that Matsujun looks amazing as ever. I still have that occasional crush on him that never fades and together with his talent and for being in Arashi, I can't blame myself for loving him. Though, I find myself conflicted with his character in the drama, regardless of being the actor or entertainer who I really like. I think that the downside of his character is that, he is poisoned with love that it gets him irrational. On the other hand, the good side is that he looks handsome while being passionate with making chocolates. You could feel that he puts his heart, mind and soul for it. But without inspiration, like for example Saeko or women, he is drained of ideas. I thought that inspiration is important but the passion itself is enough to keep you going. Then again, I saw the childish bit of his character through that kind of attitude which I thought would be changed only if he knows how to value himself, as much as he values others and of course chocolates. Obviously, his life is in the togetherness of his passion as a Chocolatier, his conflicts, as well as the good and the bad side of his personality.

First Impression: Let's Eat Episode 1

Hmm, let me see? This show totally captured my attention first with food however, I was kind of hesitant to start yet excited because I might have bad cravings that I won't be able to satisfy. And that exactly is one of the worst things that could happen to me. I don't want myself to be frustrated over that fact however, yadda yadda I tried tasting the flavor of this series and I am totally in. The story is bias towards their main objective which is to highlight food, more food and the elements that would spice up everything. I am not complaining though.

So I started watching this show with the knowledge of how surprisingly good it was as I have heard from k-netizens. Oh well, I believe in them so I was tagged along with their expectation. Regarding with the casts, this is my first time seeing Yoon Do Joon act in a drama and he's the only one I'm familiar with in there. So what have I expected from him? Not much but probably it was sort of refreshing to know that he has built an impressive debut to most of the viewers through his character Koo Dae Young which is still not clear to me about his being. He came off as a weirdo, messy and disorganized. In other words, he's a random guy with a talent in eating on-the-go foods though I mean, he must have a real great appetite to be able to satisfy himself with it. Going back to him being an actor, I know that this is perhaps his second project as an actor after IRIS II which I didn't bother watching because of the unfavorable opinion of netizens. Anyway, I just have to mention it because there were no special regard for Doo Joon's acting when it aired. So, I feel the need to emphasize that I didn't have the background to start with in him in that aspect. Fortunately, I am kind of nodding my head. My favorite scene was when he talked about the difference in jajangmyun that kind of freaked the lady in front oh him. Hah.

First Impression: Grandpa Over Flowers

It's a new variety series of tvN headed by my favorite PD in variety shows whom I first met through 1 Night and 2 Days, PD Na.

If you're familiar with season 1 of 1N2D, you'd probably agree with me that it was the best! Ever. The show swept me away all throughout. I remember being so obsessed with it that it stole the spotlight from K-dramas. The show is simply fun, feel good and spouting joys and more of it. I suppose the brilliant key to its unbeaten success and loyalty from viewers was the acquired chemistry of the casts over the years. You can just imagine working together within 5 years and more and spending 2-3 days a week exclusively. Who wouldn't get attached if that's the case? The casts came from the different entertainment backgrounds that consisted variety hosts (Kang Ho Dong & Lee Su Geun),  music icons (MC Mong, Kim C & Eun Ji Won), comedians (Kim Jong Min), dramas actors (Lee Seung Gi & Uhm Taewoong) and a dog. It was a recognizable chemistry built from taking trips to various places in S. Korea and to few opportunities abroad as well.
